Knowledge Transfer Partnerships

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs) help businesses to improve their competitive approach and productivity through Liverpool Hope University’s skill set and extensive knowledge base. These programmes meet a core strategic need to identify innovative solutions, helping to stimulate growth in quality and operations, sales and access to new markets.

There are two types of KTP:

Classic KTP: Running for between one and three years, they focus on the long-term, strategic needs of a business. They are open to businesses of all sizes in most industries. For an SME, approximately 60% of the cost is funded by a Government grant, and the rest is paid for by the company.

Short KTP: Lasting between 10 and 40 weeks, short KTPs aim to address a company's short-term, tactical issues.  Micro-sized organisations and SMEs would benefit from a short KTP. As with the classic KTP for an SME, approximately 60% of the cost is funded by a Government grant and the rest is paid for by the company.

Funding for KTPs is available through the Technology Strategy Board.

Further information is available on the KTP website.
