Education Studies Top in Northwest for Student Satisfaction

Top in the Northwest for Student Satisfaction - Education Studies at Liverpool Hope University Reaches Record Levels in National Student Survey 2016

Education Studies (combining the three Departments of Education, Early Childhood and Disability and Education) at Liverpool Hope University has reached record highs in this year’s National Student Survey placing it Top in the Northwest for Overall Student Satisfaction with a rate of 96%

In addition Education Studies sits Second in the whole North of England for Overall Student Satisfaction.

The percentage jump shows an increase of 18% up from last year’s results, the biggest percentage increase for Overall Student Satisfaction amongst all Northwest providers of Education Studies and the best survey completion rate in the Northwest of 81%. This builds on the excellent work of the three recently new departments, building on a legacy of excellent results in student satisfaction across the Faculty of Education as a whole. The results have continued to highlight this year on year maintaining an excellent track record and upward trend.

Education Studies and Sport achieved 100% Overall Satisfaction, maintaining the highest possible score for two consecutive years running. Education and SEN and Education and Early Childhood combinations both received 98% overall satisfaction.

Commenting on the results, Dr Claire Penketh, Head of the Department of Disability and Education said:

“The excellent NSS scores reflect our clear commitment to excellence in research and teaching in Disability and Education. We are proud of our students and pleased to have gained 98% student satisfaction and we look forward to building on this work in our new Single Honours programme - Disability Studies in Education. We know that our graduates will be great advocates for work in disability studies and we wish them every success.”


The National Student Survey is the most important measure of student satisfaction in the UK looking at quality indicators such as teaching, assessment and feedback, academic support, organisation, management, learning resources and student development.
