Support in Liverpool Hope’s Learning Spaces

Specialist Software

The Sheppard-Worlock Library 

The CAT suite is located on the ground floor of the library and is available on a drop-in basis. The suite is equipped with PCs loaded with JAWS, Inspirations, Read & Write, ZoomText, Dragon and Kurzweil. There is also a CCTV available in this suite to enlarge text.

Study Carrel 004 on the ground floor rear end of the library is loaded with JAWS, Inspirations, Read & Write, ZoomText, Dragon and Kurzweil. There is a large screen monitor, scanner and CCTV available in this room. This room is not available on the online booking system and must be booked at the Library Help Point.

Study Carrel 005 and 006 on the ground floor rear end of the library is loaded with Inspirations, Kurzweil and Read & Write. These rooms are available on the online booking system. 

Study Carrel 013 on the ground floor is loaded with Dragon, Inspiration, Jaws, Kurzweil, ZoomText and Read & Write software. This room is available on the online booking system.

Study Carrel 105 on the first floor rear-end of the library is loaded with Inspirations, ZoomText, Dragon, Read & Write and Kurzweil. This room is not available on the online booking system and must be booked at the Library Help Point. 

The different types of software are clearly identified on each PC within these spaces.

 

Inspirations, Read & Write and ZoomText is also available on 5 of the laptops in the library, which can be loaned out from the HCA entrance. 

All PCs on ground, first floor and study carrels are now loaded with Inspirations, SPSS, Sibelius and Read & Write software.

 

Other software:

Study Carrel 006 and 007 is loaded with Microdiet software.

Study Carrel 007 is loaded with Transcription software.

Study Carrel 110, 112 and 113 is loaded with Arcgis software.

Study Carrel 110 and 111 is loaded with Bibleworks software.

All Study Carrels with PCs are loaded with SmartBoard Software. 

 

The Creative Campus

The CAT suite is located on the ground floor of the Capstone Building and is loaded with JAWS, Inspirations, Read & Write, ZoomText, Dragon and Kurzweil.

 

The Gateway Building

Inspirations, Read & Write, Dragon, Kurzweil and Audio Notetaker is loaded on specific laptops available from the main help desk in the Gateway Building. Please ensure you inform a member of staff which software you need to access when loaning out a laptop.

IT Support

If you need some help for subject specific support and guidance you can contact one of our Faculty Librarians.

If you need any IT support within the Learning Spaces you can email IT at itshelp@hope.ac.uk or alternatively, if there is a phone provided within the Learning Space call 0151 291 2100 to speak to a member of the IT team. This service is open Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm (term time) and outside of these hours the "out of hours" phone line is operational. Library Student Ambassadors

Student Ambassadors also support the work of the Library and Learning Spaces through monitoring entry to and use of spaces, shelving and providing query and directional support in The Sheppard-Worlock Library, Creative Campus Library and Creative Campus Student Study Space.

Your Voice

Your voice really matters within the library and we welcome all feedback, as without it we cannot improve our services or spaces within the University.

We want your feedback on any of the Learning Spaces, this includes:

• suggestions for improvements to our existing Learning Spaces
• any areas, rooms or spaces you would like to be considered to become exclusively used as a Learning Space
• how you would like to receive support in the Learning Spaces from the Learning Skills and Spaces Co-ordinator or the Student Ambassadors, whether it be   electronically or in person
• Alternatively, you can feedback on our empty belly posters, postcards and notice boards place around the Learning Spaces.

Comments

90% of students said in the NSS survey that the library resources and services are good enough for my needs. This is above the sector average by 3% and our results have increased by 1% from last year.
