The following projects are expected to run in 2018:
In this project students and staff will leading English language activities for young women who are studying for undergraduate degrees at Jayaraj Annapackiam College for Women. It is expected to run in the last week of June and the first two weeks in July with a maximum of 10 students & 2 staff. There may be an additional opportunity to volunteer in a local school.
This is a long established project running Sports or Arts based activities to build self-esteem amongst orphans at an SOS village. It usually runs for three weeks in August with a maximum of 6 students & 2 staff.
This project is based in an artists’ cooperative. We try to take out a new art technique each year to share with the artists and teach Art,Music and Drama to the children at the cooperative school. It is expected to run in the first three weeks of August with 4 students & 2 staff.
This is a new project which started in 2015. Students and staff work with children with special needs on a 1 to 1 basis and lead sports activities at Sparrow School. It is expected to take place for between 3 weeks in July or August with a maximum of 4 students & 2 staff.
This is a popular project teaching across the curriculum at a government school. Students teach a wide range of ages and classes. The project is
well suited to Education students. It usually runs the last week of June and first two weeks of July with about 10 students & 2 staff.
This was a new project for 2016 working in community kitchens with elderly & vulnerable people and supporting a primary school feeding project. It is expected to run for three weeks around the end of August and beginning of September. We hope to recruit 4 students & 1 staff member.
