Global Hope is the University's international education programme. It gives students and staff an opportunity to act as global citizens by engaging with issues of social justice and participating in projects in countries as diverse as India, Sri Lanka, Uganda and Brazil.
As part of the Service and Leadership Award, there is an opportunity to apply for a place with the award winning overseas programme as one of your placements. You are required to complete the Global Hope Application Form and return it either to the International Hub or via email to the Global Hope team at firstname.lastname@example.org

In order to participate on a project, you must raise a contribution of a minimum of £1,500 for Global Hope which goes towards the costs of travel and accommodation. Over recent years, fundraising activities have included sponsored walks, car boot sales (selling unwanted items for a small amount of money), cake and craft sales, cocktail evenings and even baked bean baths. Staff participants will be asked to proactively raise funds for their Global Hope project.
Since all fundraising for the Global Hope Projects in 2018 needs to be completed in the spring, it is vital to start early. We offer workshops to help Global Hope students in their fund raising effort.
To book on this year’s fundraising sessions, please email email@example.com.
Staff support you in your fundraising attempts, and the Global Hope team are always available to help with any questions around fundraising and run advice sessions where talks are given by former Global Hope participants and their methods of fundraising.
Global Hope counts as a large part of the Service and Leadership Award, and therefore we will always encourage you to apply for a place to volunteer with us overseas as one of your placements.
You are required to complete the Global Hope Application Form and return it either to the International Hub or via email to the Global Hope team at firstname.lastname@example.org. The Application form will ask you to list the projects in order of your preference and we will always work our hardest to to ensure that you get your first choice, although bear in mind that some projects have limited places.
Global Hope has three application periods; these are May/June, October and January. The next deadline for applications is Tuesday 31st October 2018.
After we have received your application, we have an interview process that will take place approximately a week or two after the deadline. These can be arranged to go ahead over Skype. The interviews are in an informal setting and are nothing to worry over! They are just our way of checking how suitable you are to go on a Global Hope Project.
After we have interviewed applicants, we endeavour to be in touch with you within 2 weeks via email to give you the results of your interview. In this email, we hope to include your assigned project.
