Academic Career Progression

We are keen to support academic development and progression within Liverpool Hope University.

Progression itself is not automatic. Those interested have the opportunity to apply, at the time of the appropriate promotion exercise.

Applications are considered by a selection committee, comprising senior members of the University, and recommendations are made to the Vice-Chancellor. The process is transparent, open and inclusive. Evidence within each application is assessed against three broad headings:

  1. Teaching & learning
  2. Scholarship and research
  3. Wider contribution to the subject team, Faculty and the mission of the University

Verbal feedback is provided following the exercise to explain the decision and advise how a subsequent application could be strengthened.

Please access the links on the below for more information about the role profiles.

All campaigns will be widely advertised to allow candidates time to apply. Background information and details of how to apply will appear on this site in Current Vacancies and via Hope Bulletin. Briefing sessions will also be held.

Any queries regarding academic promotion exercises should be addressed initially to Clare Talbot, HR Recruitment Manager on 3379 or talbotc@hope.ac.uk
